MAUI CONSERVATION ALLIANCE ~ OUR PURPOSE
The Maui Conservation Alliance (MCA) is a cooperative partnership of government, private, and non-profit organizations striving for long-term protection of Maui's ecosystems, with special attention to native biodiversity and ecosystem services.
This group is strongly committed to refining and accelerating island conservation management and focusing resources on the highest priority conservation needs.

MCA at the World Conservation Congress

The MCA hosted several workshops, excursions and other events on Maui during the week prior to the IUCN WCC on Oahu, during the Maui-based Indigenous Crop Biodiversity Festival Week.

Held once every four years, the IUCN World Conservation Congress brings together several thousand leaders and decision-makers from government, civil society, indigenous peoples, business, and academia, with the goal of conserving the environment and harnessing the solutions nature offers to global challenges.
